May 17   PARTNERED AND MARRIED BISEXUAL WOMEN
A support group for partnered and married bisexual women wanting to explore issues of monogamy, other partners, trust building, jealousy, emotional attachment and sex.
Meeting on the third Saturday of each month from 3:15 to 4:30 p.m. We held our first meeting in April 2008. Participants gave positive feedback and want more women to attend!
Facilitated by a licensed, experienced psychotherapist familiar with the needs of the LGBT community. Meeting in Chicago's West Lakeview neighborhood. $20 fee. Please contact Carolyn E. Gehle,LCSW for information and a telephone screening at (773) 472-6615.

May 31   Rage to Page Workshop!!
There is no pride in self-destruction! Nobody wants to talk about it in a real way- why women actually cut, starve or drug themselves, what it feels like, and why it is so socially acceptable to self-destruct. Based on the essays of her newest collection, "Live Through This- The Art of Self-Destruction", Sabrina Chapadjiev be leading a workshop on the themes that surround female self-destruction: shame, power, and control, as well as ways to channel self-destructive behaviors into creative ones.

Bring your art to URBAN ART RETREAT at 1957 S. Spaulding Ave. Chicago, Il. 60623. Please make an appt. by calling and leaving a message with day & time you wish to bring art on 773-542-9126. Or send email to sophiebella@sbcglobal.net about day & time. Bring art no later than May 31, 2008 at 4 p.m. All media considered. For more details, just ask. Show will open June 8 from 1-4 with a special reception. There will also be a video recording between 1-4 on June 15. Clips will be edited into a documentary on lesbian artists. Any lesbian artists are welcome to bring their art and talk about their lives. Lesbians and their friends are invited to hang out! On June 22 there will be a laid back Gardening for Gays. Lesbian women and Gay men are invited to attend gardening at URBAN ART RETREAT. They can see the show on display, pull weeds and drink lemonade or ice tea in the sun or sit in a lawnchair drinking mimosas in the shade. B.Y.O.B.
